Legendary Jeopardy Game Show Host Alex Trebek Is Dead At 80 Years Old



Alex Trebek, the host of  “Jeopardy” since its 1984 debut , has died of pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old.

The official “Jeopardy!” Twitter account announced the news on Sunday morning:

“‘Jeopardy!’ is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends.”

 

Trebek held the Guinness World Record for the most gameshow episodes hosted by the same presenter (same program) since June 13, 2014, having hosted 6,829 episodes of “Jeopardy!,” at that point, overtaking previous record holder Bob Barker.
