Alaina Pinto said on Twitter Thursday that she was fired from her role as a morning anchor at WHDH Channel 7 News Boston after she made a cameo in Netflix’s new movie “Hubie Halloween” and accidentally violated her contract.
Pinto, was with 7 News since 2016, she said she “mistakenly violated” her contract by appearing in the movie without permission, adding that she understood why management had to cut ties with her after four years.
Seems a little harsh for a little action on the side. It sounds like it was an honest mistake and WHDH went overboard. Perhaps she will catch a better deal in the future.
In Sandler’s movie, Pinto played a news anchor for a fictional Boston TV station, Channel 4 Morning News, and starred in its morning show, “Wake Up, Boston,”
Hi Friends! I have some news to share…
Earlier this week I was let go from 7 News. I am posting this because I want to be open and honest with all of you. Last year, I participated in a cameo in the recently released Netflix movie by Adam Sandler, "Hubie Halloween". (1/3)— Alaina Pinto (@alainapinto) October 15, 2020
