The New York Jets have botched another big free agent signing and have decided to cut running back Le’Veon Bell loose. This team can’t seem to do anything right. The 28-year-old Bell left Pittsburgh after sitting out a season, and the Jets really thought he would make them relevant by handing him a four-year deal for $52.5 million.
The Jets were trying to trade him earlier in the day but there were no takers on that bloated contract. Bell failed to produce for the Jets. In 17 games played he had 264 rushes (none longer than 19 yards) with no games over 100 yards, and only 4 touchdowns.
Jets released Le’Veon Bell.
