Legendary Hollywood producer, Norman Lear has passed away at age 101. Born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1922, Lear produced, wrote, or created over 100 shows, especially some of the most beloved sitcom comedies in the 1970’s. Many of those shows became legendary, and are still watched to this day, including All in the Family (1971–1979), Sanford and Son (1972–1977), The Jeffersons (1975–1985), and Good Times (1974–1979).
Lear received many awards, including six Primetime Emmys, two Peabody Awards, the National Medal of Arts in 1999, the Kennedy Center Honors in 2017, and the Golden Globe Carol Burnett Award in 2021. He was a member of the Television Academy Hall of Fame.
