Bob Barker, the legendary ‘Price Is Right’ host, has died at age 99

Bob Barker, the longtime host of television’s “The Price Is Right” has died, according to his longtime publicist. He was 99.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us,” publicist Roger Neal said in a statement Saturday.

Barker hosted the Price is Right for 35 years, and would have turned 100 in December.

The longtime host of “The Price Is Right” actually got his start in game shows after legendary producer Ralph Edwards discovered him while listening to Bob’s radio show and hired him for TV.

Barker started off hosting the iconic hit, “Truth or Consequences” back in 1956, on which he starred until 1975. He also hosted a number of other game shows and programs over the years, including “Dream Girl of ’67,” “Tattletales,” ‘Miss Universe,’ and most famously”The Price is Right,” which he produced and hosted until 2007.

Bob will forever be remembered for his wit and humor, and of course his legendary fight with Happy Gilmore.
