A man died last night after he got his arm caught in the door of a Red Line train as it departed the Broadway MBTA Station, according to authorities.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) said that shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, a man suffered fatal injuries inside the Red Line tunnel as a train departed Broadway Station. The victim’s name has not been released, and no foul play is suspected.
A spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said a passenger got their arm stuck in the doorway of an inbound Red Line train at the Broadway platform, was dragged a short distance and died of their injuries.
The accident is currently being investigated by the Transit Police..
