According to a new study by WalletHub, Massachusetts is the best place to raise a family.
WalletHub ranked Massachusetts #1 on its list of “Best States For Families,”. WalletHub compared the 50 states across 51 key indicators of family-friendliness. The data set ranges from the median annual family income to housing affordability to the unemployment rate. They also took into account people looking for career transitions, better schools, financial challenges or a general desire to change settings.
Massachusetts received high scores for affordability, education and child care, health and safety and “family fun.” Massachusetts was also recognized for it’s public schools, and children’s hospitals.
The New England area as a whole ranked very highly with Vermont ranked 3rd, New Hampshire 6th, Connecticut 7th, Rhode Island 11th and Maine coming in at 17th.
