Massachusetts Was Recently Named The Snobbiest State In The US

Massachusetts is #1 in a lot of things, and apparently we can add snobbiest state to the list according to a recent study by career website Zippia.

“In addition to being home to a prestigiously smug university, Massachusetts is ridiculously more educated than the rest of the country and has a strong appreciation for wine,” Zippia wrote. “Sounds like a perfect breeding ground for snobbiness and artisanal cheese stands.”

The website used the following categories to determine the degree of snobbiness of the population

  • Percent of population with a bachelor’s degree
  • Percent of degree earners with a degree in arts and humanities
  • Number of Ivy League colleges
  • Gallons of wine consumed yearly

New England had a strong showing with every state ranked in the top 10 along with 5 of the top 6.

“Looks like the northeast may have a smug problem,” they said.

I don’t believe snobby is the correct term, we are just wicked unfriendly and proud of it.
